THE FARM

The S'Alquería Blanca estate, documented in the archives of Bunyola since the beginning of the 12th century, became the property of the current family since 1908. The estate was always intended for agricultural and livestock use, until today, when in 2005 it was It opened as an agritourism.

HISTORY

The main house, in a modernist style, whose project was carried out by the Catalan architect Miquel Madorell i Rius in 1908, is currently a family home in its upper part, and on the ground floor there is the reception and several rooms, which are eventually used for some important celebration. The agrotourism rooms are located in the oldest rooms that served as workers' rooms, food warehouses or animal stables.

TRADITION

The farm S´Alquería Blanca is documented in the archives of Bunyola at the beginning of the 12th century during the period of Muslim domination. The term "Alquería" comes from the Arabic, and means "agricultural center".

It is a farm with a typical agricultural tradition of the Serra de Tramuntana, where its main activity was the production of olive oil. It achieved its maximum splendor in 1888 where it won the silver medal for the best olive oil at the UNIVERSAL EXHIBITION IN BARCELONA. Agricultural activity was not only based on oil, but they also collected carob beans, almonds, cereals and had a large flock of sheep.

OUR OIL
